Exploring the evolution of parasitism

ANOUNCEMENTS:

April 2024 - Mara was award the Helminthological Society's Bernard Fried Student Research Grant to support her summer research!

​June 2023 - I have officially resigned from CBU and have moved to Florida to begin a new position as an Assistant Professor of Marine Biology at Florida Southern College. 

April 2023 - Diego, Kimmy, and Odette will be presenting their senior research projects at the 2023 meeting of the Southeastern Society of Parasitologists, April 21-22. 

March 2023 - I will be presenting at the CBU's Writing Center Women in Science event on March 30th.

September 2022 - I will be presenting as part of the CBU Library Speaker Series Sept. 20th at 4 PM.

August 2022 - The Gallagher lab is expanding! We are excited to welcome Jazmin Hernandez, Jayla Dockery, Jesus Rivas-Hernandez, Lacy Skinner, Daniel Delossantos, and Clarence Cathey to the lab. Jesus and Jazmin are both completing their senior research projects. Jesus is working with sunfish monogeneans, meanwhile Jazmin (co-advised by Moore and Gundling) is working on tick bacterial pathogens. Jayla, Lacy, and Clarence & Daniel are working with Kimmy, Diego, and Odette (respectively) on their senior research projects. 

May 2022 - The Gallagher lab will be welcoming five new undergraduate research students this summer! Welcome Diego, Kimmy, Odette, and Caleb!

​April 7, 2022 - Valeria did a fantastic job presenting her research at the annual SSP meeting! Congrats Val!

April, 2022 - Valeria Cambron Garibay's abstract to the annual meeting of  the Southeastern Society of Parasitologists has been accepted! She will present her research at this year's meeting!


January, 2020 - I have officially accepted a position at Christian Brothers University as an assistant professor of biology! I will start my new position in August of 2020.

August 1, 2019 - I have officially begun my postdoc at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre!


June 14, 2019 - I am pleased to announce I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation!

May 24, 2019 - DEFENSE ANOUNCEMENT: I will be formerly defending my Ph.D. dissertation June 14th at 9:30 AM in the Biology Physics Building room 131!

April 1, 2019 - My abstract for the annual meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists has been accepted! Come see me talk at ASP!

March 25, 2019 - Registration is now open for UConn summer courses! The course number for Field Parasitology is EEB3264.

Jan. 12, 2019 - I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching Field Parasitology this upcoming summer! The course will run from May 13-31st.
