About me:
I am currently transitioning to a new position as an assistant professor of marine biology at Florida Southern College - starting August 2023! I am an evolutionary parasitologist who has recently branched out into parasite ecology. I am broadly interested in the evolution of parasitism, the adaptations that come with this life style, the description of novel parasitic diversity, and understanding how parasite communities change over time. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Connecticut where I examined the evolution of novel morphologies in a small group of shark tapeworms using molecular biology, genomics, and microscopy. Since starting my lab in 2020, I have established several ecological studies so that my research students have systems to work in over the summer.
